10 Things I Wish I’d Known Sooner- Mindset Hacks That Would Have Saved Me Years of Stress, Self-Doubt and Stalling

happy student

You know those moments when you look back and think, “If only I’d known that back then…”?

Yeah. I’ve had about 364 of those — before breakfast.

This post is for the woman who’s been pushing, overthinking, overgiving, trying to get everything just right, and secretly wondering why she still doesn’t feel confident, fulfilled, or clear.

I used to be her.

So, here are 10 things I seriously wish someone had told me earlier — mindset shifts that would’ve saved me a ton of anxiety and helped me grow way faster (and with way more ease and joy).

1. Your Thoughts Aren’t Facts — They’re Just Thoughts

I used to believe every thought that popped into my head like it was gospel.

“You’re not ready.” “You’ll mess this up.” “Who do you think you are?”

And because I thought it, I assumed it must be true. But here’s the truth bomb I wish I’d had back then: your brain lies when it’s scared. It’s not trying to sabotage you — it’s trying to protect you.

Once I learned how to step back, notice my thoughts, and rewire them (thank you, subconscious reprogramming), everything changed. I stopped treating fear like a stop sign and started treating it like a signal to go deeper.

2. Motivation Is Overrated. Habits Win. Every. Time.

I waited forever to feel “ready.”

I thought confidence would land in my lap one day and I’d suddenly become this ultra-productive, focused queen.

But nope.

Some days I felt like Beyoncé. Other days I felt like a half-charged potato. What got me through was not motivation — it was the structure I built around the habits that mattered.

Discipline felt like a dirty word to me for years — like I’d lose my freedom. But turns out, discipline creates freedom. Knowing what I do on Mondays, how I start my day, what my non-negotiables are… it made me feel held, not restricted.

3. People Will Judge You Either Way. Be You.

I spent years trying to be the version of me that everyone would accept.

I toned myself down. Smiled politely. Said yes when I wanted to scream hell no. All because I was terrified of being "too much", “too loud”, or “too ambitious.”

But here’s the kicker — even when I did everything “right,” people still judged. Still had opinions.

That’s when it hit me: If I’m going to be judged anyway, I might as well be fully me. Wild, passionate, intuitive, deeply caring, a bit cheeky — the whole lot.

Spoiler: the right people? They loved me more for it.

4. Burnout Isn’t a Badge of Honour

Whew. This one hits deep.

I used to wear exhaustion like an achievement. Like if I wasn’t collapsing into bed with a to-do list half-finished and an eye twitch, I wasn’t working hard enough.

But the truth? I was burnt out, disconnected, and running on fumes — calling it “ambition.”

What I didn’t understand back then was that success built on self-neglect isn’t sustainable.

And it’s definitely not fulfilling.

Now, rest is part of my plan. Walks. Silence. Saying no. Midday lie-downs with no guilt.

Because I show up better when I’m nourished — not when I’m running on cortisol and caffeine.

5. If It’s Not a Hell Yes, It’s a Hell No

I used to say yes to everything.

Coffee chats I didn’t want. Projects that didn’t light me up. Helping people who never helped back.

I thought being needed meant being valuable.

But all I did was drain my energy and build quiet resentment. I didn’t have the maturity back then to realise that saying “no” is actually a sign of self-respect — not selfishness.

These days? If my body doesn’t light up at the idea, it’s a no. Boundaries = peace. Peace = power.

6. Clarity Comes from Action, Not Thinking

Ohhhh how many hours I wasted trying to think my way into clarity.

Journals full of plans. Mind maps. Vision boards. Pros and cons lists that went for pages.

But all the thinking in the world didn’t compare to doing something small and seeing what happened.

You don’t need the whole staircase — just the next step. Start messy. Try the thing. Adjust as you go. That’s how clarity is built. Not from overthinking, but from experimenting.

The magic always happened when I stopped asking, “What if it doesn’t work?” and started saying, “Let’s find out.”

7. You Don’t Have to Hustle to Deserve Success

Somewhere along the line I learned that struggle = value. That if it was easy, it wasn’t “real.” That success meant late nights, skipping fun, and grinding through.

I wish I’d known that ease doesn’t mean lazy.

You can work in alignment, trust your intuition, feel good in your body, and still build something powerful. You can actually enjoy the process.

The most magnetic version of me? She’s not burnt out. She’s in her flow. She works with joy and trust — and that’s where the magic happens.

8. You’re Not Too Much. You’re a Whole Vibe.

I shrank myself for years.

Dumbed myself down. Smiled too much. Hid my fire. Tried to be “relatable” by being less than who I was.

But the truth is — your power isn’t in how small you can make yourself to fit in. It’s in how fully you can take up space.

You’re not too much — you’ve just been around people playing small.

So now? I let myself take up space. Say the bold things. Laugh loudly. Cry when I need to.

Show up like I mean it. And guess what? That version of me gets the most love, the best clients, the deepest joy.

9. Confidence Is Built, Not Born

I used to think confidence was for “those women” — you know, the ones who just had it.

I didn’t realise that every confident woman I admired had done the work. She’d shown up when she was shaking.

Spoken up even when her voice trembled. Done the damn thing before she felt 100% ready.

Confidence grows when you take brave action. It’s a practice. Not a personality trait.

And here’s the best bit? Every time you show up for yourself, that voice in your head that says “You can’t” gets quieter. Until one day, it’s not even there anymore.

10. Your Subconscious Runs the Show — Rewire That Baby

I used to wonder, Why do I keep doing this? Why do I say I want change but fall into the same patterns?

Then I learned that 95% of what we do, feel, and choose comes from our subconscious. And that part of our brain? It runs the show based on the beliefs and stories we picked up as kids.

Mine sounded like: “I need to prove I’m good enough.” “People won’t like the real me.” “Success is hard.”

Once I started working with my subconscious — through hypnosis, visualisation, repetition, and daily mindset tools — the shifts were unreal.

Change became easier. I stopped sabotaging. I stopped overthinking. I started trusting myself.

Your brain is programmable. Use that power. Rewire it for success, peace, and joy.

BONUS: Hypnosis Won’t Make You Cluck Like a Chicken — It’ll Help You Rewire Faster Than Anything Else

Ohhh if I had a dollar for every time someone said, “But will hypnosis make me lose control?” — I’d have my own island by now.

I used to think the same. I thought hypnosis was weird, woo-woo, or something that only worked if you were extra “suggestible.”

Truth? It’s just your brain in its most powerful state for transformation — the same state you’re in when you're daydreaming, driving on autopilot, or watching a movie that makes you cry.

It’s not mind control. It’s mind access.

And honestly? I wish I’d tried it sooner.

I spent hours looping in self-doubt. Journaling until my pen ran dry. Reading all the mindset books but still feeling stuck.

Hypnosis helped me go straight to the root — those deep, hidden beliefs that were keeping me stuck — and gently rewrite them.

No drama. No resistance. Just powerful shifts that last.

It saved me time. It saved me energy. And it gave me this beautiful sense of alignment that I didn’t even know I was craving.

So if you’ve been curious — let this be your sign.

Don’t wait as long as I did.
