Have you ever felt like you’re swimming against the tide, no matter how hard you try, you’re not getting anywhere? You’re stuck in a negative pattern, feeling hopeless, and it seems like nothing you do makes a difference.

Trust me, you're not alone. I’ve been there too many times, questioning my abilities, willpower, strategies, and even my intelligence. It’s as if the universe is whispering that we're not doing our best, and to succeed, we need to be the next level version of ourselves. But it feels like we don’t have what it takes to become that version.

The Tangible Feeling of Being Stuck

Feeling stuck can manifest in many ways. Imagine working tirelessly on your projects, but progress seems painfully slow. You set ambitious goals, only to watch them slip through your fingers. You find yourself overwhelmed by indecision, constantly spinning your wheels without gaining traction.

For me, it often feels like I’m in a dense fog, lacking clarity and discipline. The more I swim, the farther the shore seems to get.

It's an exhausting and disheartening experience, leaving you questioning every move and decision.

The Inner Critic’s Relentless Voice

In these moments, our inner critic often takes over, whispering—or more accurately, screaming—that we’re not good enough, smart enough, or capable enough to achieve our dreams.

This inner voice can leave us feeling average, lazy, and disillusioned. It’s easy to lose motivation and momentum, making our dreams feel further away than ever.

But here’s the thing: understanding that we all go through challenging times can be the first step towards overcoming them.

Recognizing the Pattern

First, recognize that feeling stuck is a pattern that can be broken. It's not a reflection of your worth or abilities. It’s just a phase, and there are ways to move beyond it. Acknowledge it, accept it, and know that it doesn’t define you.

My Journey to Breaking Free

Let me share a bit of my journey. There are some times when I feel completely stuck. Every effort seems futile, and my dreams appear distant and unattainable. My inner critic is in full force, constantly reminding me of my perceived inadequacies.

It is a dark, lonely place, and I know I need a way out.

Hypnosis: Reprogramming the Subconscious Mind

One of the most transformative tools I discovered was hypnosis. It helps me reprogram my subconscious mind, tackling those deep-seated limiting beliefs that were holding me back.

Hypnosis guides me to a place of confidence and motivation, allowing me to see possibilities where there once were obstacles.

Coaching and Mentoring: Guidance and Accountability

I never fly solo; I choose to always be working with another coach.

A coach or mentor provides guidance, support, and accountability. They help you set realistic goals and develop a plan to achieve them, while offering encouragement and feedback along the way.

My mentor helps me see my potential and pushes me to strive for it.

Somatic Practices: Connecting Mind and Body

Somatic practices focus on the mind-body connection. Techniques like mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and deep breathing can reduce stress and increase clarity.

They encourage you to listen to your body and emotions, providing a holistic approach to overcoming negative patterns. For me, practicing mindfulness was a game-changer.

It helps me stay present, reducing anxiety about the future and regrets about the past.

Journaling: Reflection and Clarity

Journaling becomes another vital tool in my journey. By writing down my thoughts and feelings, I gain insights into my patterns and triggers.

Journaling provides a safe space to express emotions, track progress, and set intentions. It helps me clear the mental fog, giving me a clearer perspective on my goals and the steps needed to achieve them.

Practical Steps to Get Back in the Game

Set Small, Achievable Goals

If you know me, you already know how much I emphasise the importance of baby steps.

Break your larger goals into smaller, manageable steps. Celebrate each small victory to build momentum and boost your confidence. This is crucial for me; it makes the journey less daunting and more rewarding.

Practice Self-Compassion

Be kind to yourself. Recognize that everyone faces setbacks and challenges. Treat yourself with the same compassion you would offer a friend. Self-compassion helped me silence my inner critic and embrace my journey.

Develop a Routine

Consistency can help you regain a sense of control. Establish a daily routine that includes time for self-care, work, and relaxation.

A well-structured routine brought order to my chaotic mind and gave me a sense of purpose.

Seek Support

Don’t be afraid to reach out to friends, family, or a professional for support. Talking about your feelings can provide relief and new perspectives.

I found that sharing my struggles made them more manageable and less isolating.

Stay Mindful

Practice mindfulness to stay present and focused. This can help reduce anxiety about the future and regrets about the past, allowing you to concentrate on what you can do right now.

Mindfulness kept me grounded and centred, making each day more productive.

You’ve Got This

Feeling stuck and hopeless can be overwhelming, but it’s important to remember that it’s a temporary state.

By using tools like hypnosis, coaching, mentoring, and somatic practices, you can break free from negative patterns and move towards a more fulfilling and successful life.

I hope this story resonates with you and provides some practical solutions to help you navigate through challenging times.
